Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra verification step when logging in to My.GARMTECH. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot log in without your 2FA code.

My.GARMTECH supports two 2FA methods:

  • Authenticator app – a one-time code generated by an app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
  • SMS – a one-time code sent by text message to the mobile phone number registered on your account.

Before you enable 2FA

  • If you want to use an authenticator app, install Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or another TOTP-compatible app on your phone.
  • If you want to use SMS, make sure the mobile phone number in your My.GARMTECH profile is correct and can receive text messages.
  • Make sure you can log in to the client area and access the email address registered on your account.

Enable 2FA in My.GARMTECH

  1. Log in to My.GARMTECH.
  2. Open Account / Security Settings (the menu name may vary).
  3. Find Two-Factor Authentication and click Activate.
  4. Choose one of the available methods:
    • Authenticator app: scan the QR code with the app (or enter the secret key manually), then enter the current code from the app.
    • SMS: confirm your mobile phone number, request a code, and enter the code received by text message.
  5. Complete the confirmation and save your backup codes in a safe place if they are displayed.

Using 2FA

Next time you log in, My.GARMTECH will ask for:

  • your password, and
  • a one-time code from your authenticator app or an SMS message, depending on the method you selected.

An authenticator app is recommended where possible because it does not depend on mobile network coverage or SMS delivery.

If you lose access to your phone or phone number

  • Use a saved backup code if available.
  • If you use SMS, check whether your mobile operator can restore access to your phone number.
  • If you cannot use your selected 2FA method or a backup code, account recovery may require verification through a support request submitted by the account owner.

Security tips

  • Use a strong, unique password for My.GARMTECH.
  • Do not share 2FA codes or backup codes with anyone.
  • Keep the mobile phone number registered on your account up to date.
