Moving from another provider? Our team can transfer your website, databases and mailboxes for you – the migration is free for GARMTECH hosting clients. In most cases the site keeps working during the whole move.
How to request a migration
- Order the hosting plan you need in My.GARMTECH.
- Create a ticket in the Technical Support department with the subject "Website migration".
- Attach the information from the checklist below.
What we need from you
- Domain(s) to move.
- Access to the current provider: control panel login (cPanel/Plesk/other) or FTP/SSH details, and database access. A full backup archive also works.
- Mailboxes: if you want mail moved too – the list of mailboxes to transfer; we will agree in the ticket on a secure way to hand over their passwords (or you can re-create the mailboxes yourself).
- Preferred time for the DNS switch, if the site is business-critical.

How the move works
- We copy the files, databases and (if requested) mailboxes to the new server.
- We open a test link so you can check the copy before the switch – see Preview your website before DNS changes.
- You confirm, and we ask you to point the domain to GARMTECH nameservers (or we change them, if the domain is registered with us).
- After DNS propagation we issue an SSL certificate for the site.
The timing depends on the amount of data – we will let you know in the ticket when the test copy is ready. DNS propagation takes up to 24–48 hours.
Avoid downtime
- Do not cancel the old hosting until the site works from GARMTECH and mail is delivered here.
- Disable DNSSEC at the registrar before changing nameservers, otherwise the domain may stop resolving.
- Lower the TTL of DNS records at the old provider a day before the move, if possible.
