This article explains how to change the password for your Cloud Storage account (powered by Nextcloud), and what to update on connected devices afterwards.

Change your Cloud Storage password

  1. Open the Cloud Storage web interface and sign in (the login URL is shown in your Cloud Storage service details in My.GARMTECH).
  2. Click your profile (avatar) in the top‑right corner.
  3. Open Settings (sometimes called Personal settings).
  4. Open Security.
  5. In Password, enter your current password and set a new strong password.
  6. Save the changes.

Update desktop and mobile apps

After changing the password, apps that sync your files will need the new password.

  • Desktop sync app: open the client settings → re‑authenticate the account (or remove and add the account again).
  • Mobile app: open account settings → sign in again.

If you use 2FA

If two‑factor authentication (2FA) is enabled in Cloud Storage, external apps often require an app password (device password) instead of the main password.

  1. In Cloud Storage, open SettingsSecurity.
  2. Create a new app password for each device/app (desktop sync, mobile app, WebDAV, etc.).
  3. Update your devices using the app password.

Good practice

  • Use a unique password and store it in a password manager.
  • If you suspect the password was leaked, also review active sessions/devices in Security and log out unknown sessions.
